The UK was one of the leading jurisdictions for introduction age verification when it passed the Digital Economy Act in 2017 requiring age checks for adult content. But the government abandoned that (although these are being reintroduced in the forthcoming Online Safety Bill).
Nevertheless, there are many other pieces of legislation that apply in the UK which are either new, or are now being enforced more rigorously by regulators.
